Ok sometimes that mean girl just takes over and before you know it you have beat yourself up in your head for all the things you did not get done, missed, or got focused on all the things that are just not going right.

I am sure I’m not alone when I say this, or at least you have found yourself around a person who is telling you constantly about the bad things in their lives, I mean they are really good at it too, so it can suck you in.

In fact you can even get a little addicted to it, to the drama, to the telling of the story.

It got me thinking when do we celebrate those wins, I mean if we can stop and make a big dramatic story up about something that went wrong in our day surely we should be going equally as big on the story where we did something great.

I remember thinking back to when the kids were small, celebrating all the small wins just made them so happy, and wanting to do it over and over again, like when they start to clap or wave or talk.

So today I moved the mean girl to the side (metaphorically I mean I did not take off part of me as my son would say literally which is the word he has chosen to add to everything he says right now.)

But I choose to celebrate.

To instead of brushing them aside and just keep going, to smile, to feel the goodness and then move on, to allow my body to actually recognise what I achieved, who I helped, what change I made.

If you are siting there right now thinking, that mean girl came out a lot today, or I totally ripped her out and that win over there got nothing, I mean it just got pushed to the side. Then maybe it’s time to think about giving her a push or a shove and allowing yourself to recognise all the wins, not that you are pulling out the bubbles each time, but the goodness, the feeling of celebrating that you did it.

Just some thoughts on this, I wonder what a day in the life of you would look it if you did.
